Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 7, 2026.

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Online Clipboard service (the "Service", available at online-clipboard.click) collects, why it collects it, and the choices you have. We keep data collection minimal because the Service has no accounts, no profiles, and no email sign-up.

1. Data you give us

• Clipboard content. The text you paste and save is stored on our servers so your connected devices can read it. Only devices that know the clipboard's 6-character code can access it.
• Clipboard code. A random code is generated for each clipboard so other devices can connect to it.
• Device binding identifier. When you connect a device, the Service stores a pseudonymous identifier produced by the FingerprintJS library in your browser, and links it to your clipboard. This is what lets the page recognize your device on later visits. The identifier is not your name or email and is not used to track you across other websites.

2. Data collected automatically

Like most web servers, we keep brief technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, and the time of a request) for security, abuse prevention, and rate limiting. These logs are not used to build profiles. We use cookies and similar technologies only through our advertising partners, as described below; the Service itself does not set its own tracking cookies.

3. How we use data

• To store and deliver the clipboard content you saved, and to let your connected devices reconnect automatically.
• To prevent abuse, such as repeated guessing of clipboard codes, through per-IP request limits.
• To keep the Service secure and to diagnose technical problems.
• To display advertising that funds the Service.

4. Advertising and third-party cookies

We use third-party advertising companies, including Google (AdSense), to serve ads when you visit the Service. These companies may use cookies, web beacons, or similar identifiers to measure ad effectiveness and to show you ads based on your visits to this site and other sites (interest-based advertising).

Specifically, Google and its partners may use advertising cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites on the internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising from Google by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices and networkadvertising.org/choices.

For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, personalized advertising is only shown after we obtain your consent through a consent management platform (CMP) that meets Google's requirements. You can change or withdraw consent at any time through the consent settings shown on the page.

5. Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal information. We share clipboard content only with the devices that present the correct code, because that is the purpose of the Service. Advertising partners receive the technical information needed to serve and measure ads, as described in their own privacy policies. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety and rights of users and the Service.

6. Your choices

• Clear content: pressing Clear empties the clipboard text on all connected devices.
• Revoke a code: New code disables the current clipboard link immediately.
• Remove a device: Cancel link disconnects a device from the clipboard.
• Delete data: contact us and we will remove the clipboard and its device records you identify, or simply stop using the Service and delete your browser data.
• Advertising cookies: use the opt-out links in Section 4, your browser's cookie settings, or the consent settings on the page.

7. Data retention

Clipboard content is kept until you clear it or delete the clipboard. Device binding records are kept while the device is linked and are removed when you cancel the link or ask us to delete the record. Technical logs are retained for a limited period and then deleted.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has used the Service, contact us and we will delete the relevant records.

9. Security

We use HTTPS, parameterized database queries, request size limits, and per-IP rate limiting to protect the Service. Because clipboard codes are short by design, you should never store passwords, payment details, or other sensitive information in a clipboard, and you should treat a clipboard's code like a shared link.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above and, if the change is significant, highlight it on the home page. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
